A free, anonymous, and confidential way for a veteran, a service member or a caregiver to speak or text with a qualified responder.  They are available all day, every day.

The National Center for PTSD provides links and information to help you locate VA and other mental health services in your area.

HUD-VASH is a pairs HUD’s Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance with VA case management and supportive services for homeless Veterans. These services are designed to help homeless Veterans and their families find and sustain permanent housing and access the health care, mental health treatment, substance use counseling, and other supports necessary to help them in their recovery process and with their ability to maintain housing in the community.

Coaching Into Care” is a national telephone service of the VA which aims to educate, support, and empower family members and friends who are seeking care or services for a Veteran.

​The VA’s Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers offers a veteran’s caregiver support as they attend to the basic daily needs of the veteran.  There are minimums standards of care needed to qualify for this program.  There is a link to apply as well.

Link to request a veteran’s military service records.  This includes discharge documents (DD214 or similar items), personnel records, proof of military training, awards, and assignments.  Additionally, has links to request military medical/health records and procedures to obtain lost medals and awards.

VA statistics show that veterans who hire an advocate to help with their VA claims tend to get more money than those that don’t.  The only thing Veterans Help Group does is help veterans and their families get the veterans disability benefits and other benefits they deserve.

About 30% of annual mesothelioma claims come from veterans.  You might have a high risk of asbestos exposure if you served in military occupations from 1930 to 1980.  Every branch of the military relied on
asbestos.  VA benefits are available to veterans with mesothelioma.

The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) provides information and training to ensure Service members transitioning from active-duty are prepared for their next step in life, whether pursuing additional education, finding a job in the public or private sector, or starting their own business. TAP is a cohesive, modular, outcome-based program that bolsters and standardizes the opportunities, services, and training that Service members receive to better prepare them to pursue their post-military career goals.

The National Resource Directory is a searchable database of resources vetted for service members, veterans, family members, and caregivers. It provides access to services and resources at the national, state and local levels to support recovery, rehabilitation, and community reintegration. Visitors can find information on a variety of topics that supply an abundance of vetted resources.  The NRD is hosted, managed, maintained, sustained, and developed by the Defense Health Agency’s Recovery Coordination Program.

Apprenticeship.gov is the one-stop source to connect career seekers, employers, and education partners with apprenticeship resources. Discover apprenticeships across industries, how programs are started by employers, and how to become an apprentice. There are tools here for employers, job seekers, and education/training providers.

The Army Career Skills Program (CSP) affords transitioning Service Members the opportunity to participate in employment skills training, on-the-job training, pre-apprenticeships, and internships with a high probability of employment in high-demand and highly-skills jobs. Participation must occur within the last 180 days of military service with an honorable discharge.

Want to work for an American defense contractor but didn’t know how to get your foot in the door, this is the jobs program for you. BAE wants veterans to apply before they even leave the military, separated veterans are still welcome, so they can start job training right away. The program offers on-the-job training at a real BAE location, along with mentorship, guidance through the transitioning process and a paycheck for three years while learning the job. When your time in the WIP is up, you will be a full BAE Systems employee.

Workshops for Warriors provides all students with professional and personal development planning alongside its CNC Machining, Welding training, and credentialing programs. Unlike some other programs, Workshops for Warriors requires a fee but is covered by the Post-9/11 GI Bill.  A DoD Skillbridge Program.

Through their Talent Acquisition Pipeline (TAP) program, WOS trains and educates in-need adults and veterans for employment opportunities with partner organizations. The TAP program is customizable to the needs of our partners with proven success across a variety of sectors such as information technology, business services, and manufacturing. Any business in America is welcome to come to WOS to fill its vacancies, and any veteran in America is welcome to come find job training and a place to work.

Pathway Financial Education offers free financial education and training with courses that are easily accessible for veterans.  Pathway participants will have access to invaluable financial education and assistance in financial basics, money management, tax services, business management and more.  WWFS has a direct partnership with Pathway to provide Small Business Grants to veterans who complete the course after graduating from the WWFS Welding Training Program.

The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences. For Service members, SkillBridge provides an invaluable chance to work and learn in civilian career areas. For industry partners, SkillBridge is an opportunity to access and leverage the world’s most highly trained and motivated workforce at no cost. Service members participating in SkillBridge receive their military compensation and benefits, and industry partners provide the training and work experience. Many SkillBridge providers and partners also offer program opportunities to military spouses.

CareerStep’s Army Credentialing Assistance Program pays up to $4,000 for training and exams that lead to civilian certifications and licenses. The goal is to help you gain new skills outside your Military Occupation Specialties, increase your employment opportunities after discharge, and ease your transition to civilian life.
